MARK 5:36
Overhearing what was being said, Jesus said to the synagogue official, “Do not be afraid; only keep on believing [in Me and my power].”

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE
Mark 5:21-36 AMP version
21When Jesus had again crossed over in the boat to the other side [of the sea], a large crowd gathered around Him; and so He stayed by the seashore. 22One of the synagogue officials named Jairus came up; and seeing Him, fell at His feet 23and begged anxiously with Him, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death; [please] come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will be healed and live.” 24And Jesus went with him; and a large crowd followed Him and pressed in around Him [from all sides].
From 25 to 34 – The bible gives an account of the woman with the issue of blood. How she touched the hem f Jesus garment and by faith she was made whole. We jump over to verse 35 and we see Jesus continue his journey to Jairus home. Verse 35 reads…
25A woman [in the crowd] had [suffered from] a hemorrhage for twelve years, 26and had endured much [suffering] at the hands of many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but instead had become worse. 27She had heard [reports] about Jesus, and she came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His outer robe. 28For she thought, “If I just touch His clothing, I will get well.” 29Immediately her flow of blood was dried up; and she felt in her body [and knew without any doubt] that she was healed of her suffering. 30Immediately Jesus, recognizing in Himself that power had gone out from Him, turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched My clothes?” 31His disciples said to Him, “You see the crowd pressing in around You [from all sides], and You ask, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” 32Still He kept looking around to see the woman who had done it. 33And the woman, though she was afraid and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34Then He said to her, “Daughter, your faith [your personal trust and confidence in Me] has restored you to health; go in peace and be [permanently] healed from your suffering.”
35While He was still speaking, some people came from the synagogue official’s house, saying [to Jairus], “Your daughter has died; why bother the Teacher any longer?” 36Overhearing what was being said, Jesus said to the synagogue official, “Do not be afraid; only keep on believing [in Me and my power].”
Do not be afraid, only keep on believing – in other words, stop the fear, keep the faith.
WHAT IS THE MEASURE OF YOUR FAITH
I want to raise our consciousness to the fact that faith is something that can be measured.
Your faith can increase and at the same time it can decrease.
Without depth in Christ and in the word of God, the scale in which we use to measure of faith can be out of balance.
People, places, prophecies and general occurrences around us can cause us to tilt the scale of our faith measure if we are not grounded in Christ and in the word of God.
Jairus the leader of the synagogue came to Jesus – believing without the shadow of a doubt that if anyone can heal his daughter, it would be Jesus.
If anyone can turn the situation around it would be Jesus
If anyone can make that which seems to be impossible to become possible if would be Jesus
If anyone can raise that which has been declared dead
Give sight to that which is called blind.
Give sound to that which is called deaf.
Give babies to that which has been called barren.
The fruitless becoming the fruitful
Turn our lives around – make a nobody into somebody!
Jairus knew that If anybody could do it, it would be Jesus.
So, he went to Jesus.
On their way to his house God confirmed his suspicion about Jesus,
A real-life situation happened. a lady with the issue of blood would have a once in a lifetime encounter with Jesus that that would change her life forever. Her name and story would be recorded in history to be referenced for thousands and thousands of years as the woman with the issue of Blood.
This is meant to increase the measure of Jairus faith in God.
This was a testimony for him to connect to and use as a faith builder.
It is one thing to hear about a miracle, watch it on tv or social media,
It is something else entirely to see it real life with your own eyes not that somebody told you.
Verse 35 said 35While He was still speaking, some people came from the synagogue official’s house, saying [to Jairus], “Your daughter has died; why bother the Teacher any longer?” 36Overhearing what was being said, Jesus said to the synagogue official, “Do not be afraid; only keep on believing [in Me and my power].”
The agents of the devil came in the form of his friends and sowed seed of sorrow and doubt into his heart. Peradventure he was giving up, maybe he was already crying, maybe the devil already started rejoicing at his demise, his countenance had already changed, the measure of his fear increased, and the measure of his faith decreased.
Jesus knowing that fear is a liability in the kingdom and faith is the needed assets in this situation.
Ignored the people talking and spoke directly to Jairus.
He ignored the noise and the naysayers and spoke directly to the spirit of the believer.
STOP THE FEAR … KEEP BELIEVING
STOP THE FEAR … KEEP BELIEVING
STOP THE FEAR … KEEP BELIEVING
QUICK PRAYER –
Is there anyone who has walked in here today with a heavy burden on their heart. We stand on the holy ground and on the authority of scriptures and curse every spirit of fear in the name of Jesus.
Let every burden be removed now in the name of Jesus.
Let every yoke be broken now in the name of Jesus.
I like to close with this picture in our mind.
At the end of the day this life is a journey governed by two powerful forces
FAITH AND FEAR
It is the difference between those who will fulfil destiny and those who won’t.
I like for us to imagine a water bottle.
This water bottle has openings on both ends
And in the middle is another opening where two things are allowed to enter
The word of the lord or the word of the world
This water bottle is a scale that tilts based on what you allow into it
My charge to you this morning is to let the measure of your faith outweigh the measure of your fear. So much so that fear is no longer found in you concerning any situation in life.
That your rest in the lord, hold your peace and watch his fight for you.
Make this bold confession as you open up your heart to receive a word from God through different channels today.
It is my turn for an encounter.
It is my turn for a transformation
It is my turn for a renewing, a reviving, and a re-igniting
My heart is receptive
My spirit is willing
The word of the lord I will hear today
Will fall on good soil, and bring transformation
I am the good soil, I am the good soil, I am the good soil.
